Heavy-Duty:

The robust Heavy-Duty profile has larger crosssection and can accept up to 1800 lbs installed load while conforming to IEC 61587-1. Specially designed for use in high-demand situations, it offers the greatest stability even in extreme environmental conditions including shock, vibration and even earthquakes.

Three mounting areas in one profile.

Grid holes, mounting groove and 45° form: VARISTAR unites three different mounting areas in a single profile. These unique combinations allow assembly and accessory parts to be fitted quickly and simply, inside as well as outside. And best of all: individual requirements.



Shock and vibration resistance.

VARISTAR has been designed with high physical stresses in mind. Of particular importance in this respect is the transverse strength of the frame. The specially developed hollow-chamber profile achieves the DL5 and DL6 requirement classes for static and dynamic loads, and thus also the highest shock and vibration resistance to IEC 61587-1, with minimal material outlay.

DL5:
Shock and vibration stresses such as occur in railway equipment, road signalling equipment and where situated close to rotating machines.

DL6:
Stresses such as occur on merchant ships and in low-demand military installations.

VARISTAR test results:

Excellent earthquake resistance.

In dynamic tests for stability in earthquake conditions, the seismic reinforced VARISTAR Heavy-Duty proved its suitability for worldwide use. The seismic tests, carried out under IEC 61587-2, certify the cabinet platform's earthquake resistance up to Bellcore Zone 3. By further reinforcing the cabinet, earthquake resistance is assured up to Bellcore Zone 4 under certain loading conditions.
